Police in China take away Evergrande protesters demanding repayment of investments

Police took away some of the protesters who had gathered outside the headquarters of the cash-strapped real estate developer China Evergrande Group. The removal on September 16, 2021, came as the country's second-biggest property developer wrestles with a liquidity crisis. Investors have been demanding repayment of loans and financial products outside the company’s office in the southern Chinese city of Shenzhen since September 13.
